About Us

The Oakville Gardening Club was founded in 2005 by a group of passionate gardeners who wanted to share their knowledge, experience, and love of gardening with the community. Today, we are a thriving organization with over 150 members from diverse backgrounds and skill levels, united by a shared commitment to cultivating in our local landscapes. Our members range from beginner plant enthusiasts to experienced horticulturists, creating a rich environment for learning, mentorship, and friendship.

History

Our club was born out of an informal gathering of gardening enthusiasts at the Oakville Public Library, where a few neighbors bonded over a shared love of plants and a desire to make Oakville a greener, more vibrant place to live. As our membership grew, so did our ambitions, transforming this small gathering into a dynamic community of gardeners with a vision. Soon, we expanded beyond simple meetings and began hosting hands-on workshops, seasonal garden tours, and community events.
